Crawl box update: looks like it'll cost an extra arm. ~$3k total

Why? Why the hell am I doing this to myself?

    :bananadead:

Oh yeah, I remember now, it's fun!

Honestly...and I hate to say this because it makes my adapter more expensive...you might be better off waiting to see if marlin gets their shit together by the time they are ready to build yours.

    1) you'd be helping out the group buy by bringing the price down.

    2) with the crawl box popularity increasing you could get your money back on it without much trouble.

    3) don't ever take my advice ;D

This is something I have been thinking about since I read your first post about getting an adapter made. With my luck, I'm sure I'll get the adapter in my hands the day Marlin announces they have 6spd crawl boxes ready to ship.

I don't like spending extra, but I have definitely blown $600 on way stupider shit.

I have been kicking around the idea of cancelling my Marlin order and waiting to see what happens with the couplers. Order one with the group, price depending. Let you be the guinea pig :drevil:

I absolutely understand what you mean. No questioning, I'm anxious about it and it will always be in the back of my mind "what if". That said, should Marlin get their adapters working, I figure I could swap the Marlin in and keep the custom as a spare.

With Marlin's current focus on the RCLT there's no telling when they'll work on the 6spd couplers. What can I say? I'm impatient.

Lol I’m impatient to with certain things but a substantial investment like that I want to see first hand results. Honestly I’ve never felt the need for a crawlbox however I do understand the benefits. Hell with the recent regear 4L is way better that it was prior but I followed suit with the rear after wheeling ya.

    Your expensive Alex.

I think I just got spoiled with the 4:1 and 4:56's in my Rubicon. I miss that control. 2:57:1 is too quick for my taste. I hate slipping the clutch or bouncing around on every little thing. Having some better gear options would, at least in my eyes, make a world of difference in control and capability as well as reduce the stress on the suspension and a great majority of the drive line.

I did weigh the option of regearing to 4.56's and adding a front locker. Bang for buck, crawl box won on the pro's/cons list.

I know I am. I can't help it. Don't ever date me. I'll put out but it will ultimately be the death of you

I'm thinking 4.88s and calling it a day. No front locker, no upgraded rear locker. Future SAS and then front locker and maybe crawl box

Did you read 4:88's for MT and 4:56 for AT somewhere?
