Quoting myself here for the reference, put a gauge on my tires and they’re reading 32,33,33,32. This is a 2021 Tacoma, people have made excellent points about the intended function and accuracy of these sensors, I had just hoped they’d be a little bit more trustworthy. But then again, as long as they tell me when one is drastically low, I’m sure it won’t be the end of the world.

Something interesting I realized from your post. If you live at high altitude for example 7000 ft, your TPMS is reporting wrong. If the vehicle door placard requires 35psi, using PSIG the tires should be inflated to 35psi but the TPMS will report 38psi.

I drove vehicles for nearly 30 years without TPMS and survived just fine.
Now my sensors are out, possibly age related dead batteries.
I don't care to get them replaced, i just carry an old school pressure gauge with me.

If you want to blame someone, blame Firestone. TPMS was mandated because of all the Ford Explorer rollovers from low tire pressure blowout in the 90s with those shitty tires.

I like my TPMS. It has save me numerous times from having to change a tire on the side of the road. I get a low pressure warning, find a sheet metal screw in my tire, and have enough time to get to a tire shop.

I do remember that firestone debacle, what a mess.
