There are a hundred frame discussions on this forum, but what I'm not seeing in any threads are accolades confirming that the replacement frames are doing any better than the original batch. Did Toyota actually regain their reputation for durability with all you guys that had the frames swapped?

Are the new frames rusting? Does anyone have any pics of their new frame installed on their first gens and how they're doing after a few years out on the road? if you can, please say when frame was replaced.

I think he's asking about a new frame installed in a 1st gen around 2011-present.

Yeah, looking to buy a first gen. Wondering if the new frames are holding up better than the previous versions? Looking for people that bathe their vehicles in chain and gear oil or fluid film to keep things mint.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
2nd gens are having frame rust problems too, the 2005 to 2010's I want to say are getting recalls for it. Probably a matter of time before the 2011 and up trucks get it too.

A good question. I guess as the saying goes, no news is good news.
Most people will speak right up if something is amiss. Not hearing anything, good or bad would say to me that it's a new frame under a truck out of sight and mind.
It would be nice to hear if anybody ever treated their new frame after it was installed. Or does the rust process quietly begin again...
