I'm going to test drive a 2020 Tacoma in 2 weeks to get a feel for it again. I test drove a 2019 last fall and being 6,2 I felt like I was looking at the top of the windshield/hood and the overall seating position was a little awkward. Does it lower just a little bit more? What's everyone's overall thoughts?

My bro in-law has a 2015 and I always found that the cab seemed small. I have has my 2020 since end of Nov. I don’t notice it the same issue. I don’t think it would make me go one way or another. I had other reasons for going with the 2020. I’m am 5-9

I will say I like the power seats.

    Hope this helps

6'1 and tall from the hips up (long torso).

I drove several 2019 (no power seat) and several 2020 (power seat). I had the same complaint as you with my line of sight being obstructed by the top of the windshield. I also had head room issues with sunroof models.

I visited the dealer several times over a few weeks, specifically to drive slightly different models back to back. This helped narrow down the decision making for me.

Your question, YES the 2020 power seat does go lower than the non power seat. I would say it goes 1-2" lower. I was able to get a better sight line out of the truck with the power seat. I was also able to gain some head room, but isn't really necessary on non sunroof models for me. At least i have a couple more inches of head room for unexpected off roading bounce lol.

The power seat bottom being adjustable (front to back tilt) and the lumbar support most definitely make the seat more comfortable. And you can change it on long trips if needed which is nice.

I would highly recommend sitting in the 2020 and 2019 back to back if possible. Any dealer should accommodate you on this if they are worth your time.

Forgot to mention, the rear view mirror can articulate up where it nearly touches the roof panel. Move the arm up then adjust your mirror. This helps with line of sight out the front.

It lowers, but not much...MAYBE an inch. Toyota fixed the complaints by the shorter drivers, not the taller ones since upward travel is much more considerable. However, I do find the standard seats sit lower in the 3rd gen than 2nd gen. I was more comfortable when I sat in my brother's '17 than when I had my '12. I also thought I'd hate the 'cement', interior, but its actually quite nice as it gives the seat a two tone look like the 4runner.

On my 2019 my rear view mirror always blocks my sight... I have it cranked all the way up onto the headliner but still bothers... I read that a member when to the upholstery shop and they removed about an inch of foam from the seat and it fixed his issue...

I notice that a lot of people complain about the viewing on the 3rd gens. I’m 6’2” and I do notice a slight difference between the 2nd gen and 3rd. However, it’s never really bothered me. The only way you’re going to know is if you drive it for awhile and note if it bothers you. It’s a midsize truck afterall.
