If anyone is interested this is the diamondback with the yakima outpost hd/big catch saddles for my PA 360. It just clears the cab. My main purpose for this is so I can bring my kayak with my camper.

I made this artist rendition of my ideal location to haul my 17'6" kayak. I'm curious if any one is using a combination of the factory roof rack along with their canopy rack to haul their long boat??

I actually have a pair or single, cab mount Yakima bar(s) that I have used with my above ^^ setup where the cab bars are the same height or close enough to mount a long kayak like you are asking about. Again they are old school clip mounted round Yakima bars that I have used for long items, bicycles and a cargo box or basket.

Yakima Baseline feet with Jetstream cross bar in front. Track mounted feet and bar on the back of the topper. Works very well. No marring of the paint on the cab from the Yakima clips or feet. The bars can be mounted or removed in under 5 minutes. I’ve driven thousands of miles with a boat on the roof using this system. BF16FE85-768E-4D22-ACDF-21D3298468AF.jpg

I would like to watch you get that beast up there. I know that’s not easy.

If I had to haul 2 I would look at either adding a second level with bed bars or some sort of roof rack. But for just one I just strap it in the bed.

Got 2 big boys to haul, and sticking out isn't an option currently. Got the start of the project going with extrusion from Parco Inc (local-ish to me) and some sherpa tent mounts. Martin OR roof rack on order and when it shows up we will mock these heavy bastard up. This may be a total bust or be an epic way to haul these undersized pontoons lol.

It's not that hard, but its not that easy either - that sucker is heavy! Basically just pick the bow up and put it on the rear most rail then pick the back up and slide it up.
It's the only way I could figure out how to take the kayak and the camper together.
I usually have it in the bed like yours if I'm not using the camper.

this is super old but any chance you remember how you ended up doing this? If so, could you fill me in on the parts you grabbed for it. I’ve been wanting to try to find a way to makeshift something that connects to my bed rails. C4 Fab has one similar but they want like $130+ and there’s no way I’m paying that for something simple.

This is pretty much exactly what I’m looking to do, makeshift something from HD. Did you find the idea on a forum within TW?

Where’d you get/how’d you rig that bed bar rack?? I want something low key like that and if I can save a few bucks, do it myself with goodies from Home Depot.
