We discontinued the Kayak holders when we started offering a full-height bed rack. That rack in the photos was a first-generation design and was more like 10". Check the website for the proper photos of the current generation half rack.

thanks! Do you have any kayak holders you would recommend? I want to make sure I get ones that fit the horizontal cross bars and are not to close to the cab of the truck. Maybe I would need spacers?

Anybody hauling two ≥ 12' kayaks on J-style mounts on a Prinsu/Martin/UpTop/FrontRunner/etc style roof rack?

I have two 10' Pelican Mustangs that i put on the Prinsu offset to the passenger side. Leaves room for a cargo box on the driver side. I have two sets of Yakima Jay-Lows. Initially I was hauling the kayaks on the HD bed rack but the Jay-Lows clamp onto the Prinsu nicely. They're kinda spendy but I really like how easily they go on and come off the rack.

Yakima claims you can mount two kayaks with one pair of Jay-Lows but I couldn't ever get the second one secured enough.

Currently using a Harbor Freight bed extender. I can fit this 13 footer, or two 12 ft tandems when the whole family wants to go for a paddle, but I usually have to remove the tonneau cover when I do that. I use ratchet straps and keep them just snug, but I'll be purchasing some NRS straps shortly. Looking at the Victory Modular Rack for next season.

    A bunch of shit...
Borrowed the neighbor's kayaks and she was worried about them getting scratched up so I cut some Dollar Tree pool noodles for the cross bars. Worked like a charm.20210614_181738.jpg 20210614_194651.jpg

This is on my Ford Transit but we have the same setup on my Tacoma and my wife's Subie. Pieces of old tie down straps bolted through one of the body bolts under the hood. Makes a clean mounting point in the front for canoes and yaks when you carry on the roof rack. A little added security. When your not haulin they fit nicely under the hood out of sight. Always there when you need them.

This has worked well for me so far. Voodoo rack with J hooks. 14' kayaks.

Exact same thing here. Mine is 13' and the bed extender works like a champ.

I found an old jet ski trailer on Craigslist for cheap and use it to drag my fishing kayak around. I'm getting up there in age and this is so much easier on my back! 20210905_154559.jpg 20210905_154522.jpg

mine are too heavy to get on a rack so i set up this trailer. The big one is 178 lbs with nothing in it 20210516_191756.jpg and the peddle drive out.

Very innovative. Thats the one thing I don't like about my set-up (no forward secure point). Do you have any images showing more detail on how you attached this under the hood of your Tacoma?

Posted elsewhere, but I run a Prinsu Top Rack and Cab Rack in tandem, and toss my canoe on top of both using a 42" conveyor roller I bought from Grainger, wrapped with gorilla tape to absorb the blows.

An old timer who goes up to Boundry Waters several times a year showed me this. Pretty straight forward. For the Taco I tried to get fancy and add a grommet to the strap but the Subie and the Transit don't have it and its never been an issue. The bolt is already there, you just remove it, poke a hole in the strap and insert the bolt through the strap and reinstall. I don't know how much this bolt would actually hold but it works and give a little piece of mind. I obviously don't use this at the only tie down spot. Boats are strapped securely to the roof rack as well.
