you already answered your own question. You’re not going to be doing hardcore trails. You will see no noticeable difference between the two on light to moderate trails.

Based on the title you chose for the thread...

“How bad is a stock TRD offroad?”

... I’m going to put you in the “glass is half empty” category. Just get the Pro, your approach to this is already setting you up for disappointment with the OR... real or imagined.

Not trying to diss the pro but I have the spec’d out OR (besides JBL & front camera) and paid $10k under what the pros were listed at on the lot. This also included the 100k warranty & paint protection. Dealer was charging close to $50k for the pros though. Many of the things you listed are the same minus the small “PRO” lettering. To each their own, though. I don’t plan on modifying much on mine, while some have the same viewpoint but want the suspension ready to go from the factory.

Well that, or a bit more finesse with the brake pedal modulation. It does take some getting used to, though.

    100% agreed.

Trolls are gonna troll . Funny thing is in first post he “says” he doesn’t want it to be a pro vs or thread. Then goes on to do that exact same thing

    Check build thread!
I use my truck hard. 120000km a year, 50000km of that on dirt roads. 5000 in mucky farmers fields. All of it being bounced around hard. Usually loaded up with tools. I haven't regretted getting the offroad once. The suspension is great.

Just looked at toyota's website, the 10k price difference is ridiculous. With that kind of money you can get wheels, tires, coilovers, and have money for the grill.

Get a DCLB Sport 4x4. Non-functional scoop, no locker, no nonsense. Hitachi's patented off-road package will slam your butt so hard on the trail you'd think you were pulling Gs.

Sold: '19 TRD OR - It will always be in my heart.
Trails get snowed on too. Have you ever been on a trail up a maintain in the winter?

You've clearly never gone up a steep trail with deep snow, where the snow packs under a vehicle and eventually all traction is gone. Crappy car, great car, good driver, bad driver. Laws of physics apply regardless. Better tires, and a higher vehicle will go further in that scenario, but it won't go forever either.

    ^This

Just buy the OR w/ the premium OR & tech package. Then go find the dummy who took the Fox shocks off his Pro and buy them off him for $1200. Good way to have some other guy take the $6k hit for you haha

I was torn between the OR and the Pro when I bought mine. I did not want a sunroof (additional place for a leak) or leather (burns my ass/legs in the hot texas sun) so my choice was made for me.

I haven't regretted buying the OR instead of the PRO. I have regretted buying the Taco instead of the Raptor I wanted, but thats a completely different issue.

The OR owners are just jealous. If you want a Pro buy it. Then you can look down your nose at us Lesser Trim guys/gals. :humble:
