You are correct. A friend of mine built a house 'off the grid'. Ontario Hydro tried to bill him a grid fee because the line ran down his road.

He completely lost it when he tried to explain that he was never hooked up and they wouldn't listen. They sent his bills to a collection agency and tried to f*ck up his credit. He had to get a lawyer.

    He won. A precedent here.

    True.

My statement was I'm tired of blaming every little thing in this economy on the Harper government. I don't see the Liberals doing much different TBH and I have no clue, and I don't think anyone else does, on how things would look under the NDP. Part of me wonders if this is just Canada continuing to lose economic importance except as a source of raw products.

I just posted a story , had nothing to do with what you said

And I predict an NDP minority , so I guess we'll find out

Wasn't sure if you were trying to tie them politically. My bad!

Yeah, I've seen a few articles mentioning the Liberals might be looking to form an alliance with the NDP to remove the PC's. Probably one of those deals where the NDP doesn't run in 30 something riding's but the Liberals do to try and take enough of the left vote to take a few extra seats.

In an unrelated vein I'd love to see the Greens get more seats than the Bloc Quebecois. Maybe then the BQ can finally fold. All their existence does is cause drama in the house which results in the Quebecois being under represented in Parliament in reality.

Well the Liberals should be able to keep the NDP from going to far with any of their more extreme tax or pro union measures that some, not all, of the NDP members are pushing for. Like I said, who knows. I'm still not sure what the Alberta NDP is all about and they've been in power provincially for a few months now lol.

Maybe change for the sake of change will be good for the economy.

The Bloc lost all their seats in Quebec to the NDP last time

I didn't know that. I was just taking a quick look at the poll you posted and it appeared that the BQ won 4 seats last time and were projected to win 2 seats this time. Whatever the case, as someone who has family in Quebec, I really do hope that party continues to die off. I have no problem with separatists being represented provincially but there is no need for them at the federal level.

Ex employee walked into a local transport company claiming he had a gun today. As more people lose their jobs around here more and more of that is going to happen.

Not putting this up as a political statement, but did anyone see what CNR said? Shots fired. I guess that's the end of the industry playing nice with Notley. Hopefully she has a good response or else this is going to become the common sentiment among the unemployed here:

CNR is more a natural gas company than a crude oil company.

They do still have crude investments/projects too. If CNR is not doing well, it reflects poorly on companies that are even more exposed to low oil prices.

Exactly my point though unless the NDP controls global oil prices
