So my friend wants me to put together a lift kit for his 01 prerunner. I told him not to go over 3" so he wants exactly 3". I picked 5100's front and rear with an AAL and 1/2" top plate spacer for the front. Question is will it kill him to not get UCA's. He wants it to be as cheap as possible and its a 2.7l 2wd so it doesn't get wheeled. He is the type of person that would go without the UCA's if they are not required. So first ten guys help me help him.

Not a first gen guy, but generally anything over 2.5" is HIGHLY recommended to get new UCAs.

Every truck is different. Put the lift on, then get an alignment and see if it's in spec. If it is you're good to go. Otherwise crank the shock down a notch and save for some ucas

I'd get them for my truck for sure, but that was my thought. If it won't align then put them on.

you dont necessarily NEED UCA's, theres just a possibility that the allignment wont go back into spec. its not going to hurt anything to not have them, the truck may just drive a little differently and the tires may wear a little bit faster. but as stated before, every truck is different. theres people on here with a full 3" that have a spec'd alignment with no aftermarket UCA's, and theres people that got aftermarket UCA's to be able to be in spec.

If it's a street queen let him put the db on. Sounds like he just wants height and some nice big rims and tires lol

What killed the db was $$ I told him we will put on the lift and if it won't align to spec he can order UCA's
