Get a new vehicle or go back to stock. There is no magic cure to get better mpg after you lift and add bigger, heavier tires. You MPGs were traded for SPG (smiles per gallon).

    Don't go over 65 MPH. :)

That's about the only thing I've found makes a significant difference. Obviously, easy on the acceleration helps as well.

I’m new and learning but would a different air filter help any at all?

The MT tires definitely are not helping. You can try a tall and skinny tire, they seem to be a bit lighter than a normal AT 285/75/16. But again, nothing is really gonna get you crazy mpg gains.

Try a small displacement motorcycle.....say about 350cc or less. Then park the truck.

I’ve had my 13 Tacoma for a month now. It must be lifted cause I gotta hoist myself up into the seat using the grab handle, and the tires seem big. I love the ride and being above a lot of traffic. My first truck and I just love it. Checked the mileage after 125 miles of in town driving = 14.7 mpg. I don’t care...it’s a 4.0 six and it has a lot of pick up. Very happy with it so far.
