Sweet, thank you so much for educating me.
Should I carry a mini air compressor?

I'll bite a bit late. Super loaded question, and some pretty heavy opinions on both sides.

I'm a Jeep guy. Was '4X4 no matter what guy'. I now have a PreRunner, and am perfectly happy. I attribute most off-road capability to good tires and technical driving skills while knowing your vehicle's capability.

I don't use my truck heavily off-road. I take it camping pretty often, but by no means am a serious rock-crawler, as I'd guess about 90% of the guys on this site are not. In short, I use my truck like a truck - to get me where I need to go, on or off-road. When I get more serious about rock-crawling or another technical activity where 4X4 is more of a necessity, then I'll look into a 4X4.

Each individual person has to decide what they need the truck for. I'm not a PreRunner fanboy, nor am I in the '4X4 or nothing!' crowd.

Good conversation! Only one small pissing contest!
