Personally, if power seats were important to me I would have just bought a truck that had power seats.
Power seats have never been offered on a Tacoma, airbags are built into our seats so finding something that would work and give you the same level of safety would be like finding a unicorn. Good luck.

I used to feel the same way about power seats but then realized that I adjusted my seat the first day I got the truck and haven’t touched it since. Extra weight and another thing that can break that I don’t need but thought I did.

the ONLY advantage (in my opinion) of having power seats is the infinitely small incremental adjustability-- instead of mechanical presets- but what's a 1/2" really

well, the BIG deal to me would be being able to adjust the height and angle of the seat bottom. on my cars that have this, on long road trips, I periodically like to shift that angle a bit to transfer the weight under my thighs and butt.

I've heard you can adapt the seats from an equivalent gen 4Runner, that they have the same bolt pattern. of course, you'll need to run power to them, so if you snag a set at a junkyard, whack off as much of the harness as you can so you can use the plug...

Yeah, I love my manual seat - less to go wrong and frankly my seat rarely moves, so really does not matter to me.

Not a 5th gen 4Runner. 4runner has a much different seat to floor height. Maybe an older one. In addition, what about the airbags?

Ability to adjust height? Have you sat in the tacoma? If your of average height there is not much room in the truck to begin with unless your a vertically challenged fella!

All kidding a side, i’d of liked some power controls, especially for the money. Actually i’d of preferred better fit and finish on the interior. I have a steering wheel where the leather is wearing badly and interior door panels if i blow on them they get scratched.

    Ps i hate iphone keypads!!

You would think all new cars and trucks would have power seats.... I agree however I set it and forget it with seat position. Not a big deal

I have a long torso for my 6' height, and I'd like to be able to LOWER the rear of the seat bottom a bit

We need a Lexus Tacoma model!! woot. (j/k!)

for what its worth, the grey interior on my '08 seems pretty rock solid and durable.

Haha, I hear ya. I’d would be a bit nicer if we could get a bit better seating style or maybe fit a variety of people. I have a sunroof, so my clearance is maybe 1/2”.

Only mod I am doing to my seats is the Heated seat mod. I am the only driver of my truck so its setup already the way I like it. I can really only see power seats being good if multiple people are always tinkering with it for their driving style. Power seats fail also. Ive had it happen..

Heated seat mod? I thought all the 3rd gens came with heated seats.

I don’t think we are after the power seat mod to reduce on failures. We’re paying as much for these trucks as fullsied trucks, almost and not getting nearly all the creature comfortts.

I’d rather they did away with the blind spot monitoring and put in decent power seats.

My car is 26 years old and never had any power seat failure, it's just an electric motor like the ones that open and close the windows, very reliable. That said, I don't think power seats are that big of a deal but the infinite adjustability makes them kind of nice.

I’d be happy with a slightly better seating position. My back gets sore after a few hours of driving in the truck.

I wish the bottom part of seat could tilt up a little. Feels flat to me.
