how come so many people have double cabs?

As far as looks go....

RC > AC > DC

If they put a V6 in the RC I would be all over it.

 

I have two kids so I did not have much other choice than a double cab. I guess I could have crammed them in the back of an access cab but that would have been miserable for them and for me.....

This is where I got it from. I ordered like 4 of them when I had my Lexus and just happened to find one laying around. The one on there is a 7" or 8" I believe.

 

Oh, trying to be a smart-ass, huh? Okay, my double-cab is a work truck, which means carrying a work crew occasionally. It's also handy for carrying passengers (friends, etc - assuming you have any) after work. But, more importantly, the double-cab simply looks better and has more prestige than your two-a-penny access cab.

Personally I like the look of an AC but owning a DC I am glad I got it. The extra 0.2348% mpg + $$ cost negates the occasional benefit of packing in kids, dogs, in-laws, tools, shit from Fry's, and shit you just don't want to put in the bed.

space in the back for storage

can use the "CANNOT. xtend cab..." when people want to use you as a taxi

but you can fit people back there if really necessary
