Mostly the old NORBA circuit with the occasional road race or crit thrown in. My primary racer was a Trek 8000 hardtail, my trainer was an ancient Bianchi steel frame.

Later I traded the hardtail for this guy, thanks to my shop employee discount:

And immediately after that I got a girlfriend and stopped racing. :( I'm still sore about it, that NRS was light and squirrelly as hell, I could really carve trails on it. Even with the rear suspension it would have been a fun racer. 20-something years later and change, it's still hanging in my garage, and still is a light, fun trail bike.

Rzrs are trash. Let's save him some time and headache.

The maintenance on these rattle cans is ridiculous. They're loud. Buy a Rzr or "side by side" simply if you want a boat that drives on sand. They're not streetable. They're impractical. They aren't really safe to drive on the road. And in the places you do drive them, other people in them drive like stupid assholes and you still have to consider them as a safety liability anyways.

    0/10 would not recommend.

So cool. I did a few Crits on old Vitus 979s in the aughts and some informal mtb single-track races out here (ride 40 miles single track with 10,000’ elevation gain and the aid stations had tequila; forest service folks chased us off if they got wind of us). I did sections of the great divide race but never did the whole thing. Maybe when I’m older.

Sorry if the OP wanted a singular focus on this thread. Uh, driving in deep water is bad.

Pretty sure I’ve read numerous threads on here of people getting water in their 4WD actuator because it isn’t mounted very high. Then, it rusts internally and 4WD won’t engage the next time you need it. There’s a lot of risk when it comes to water. I’ve seen numerous off-road enthusiasts on here recommend keeping it at or below the centerline of the wheel hubs and go slow and steady.

I have seen video of Tacomas floating by up to their roof, so if your looking for a boat. Maybe mount a chair to the roof and a electric motor. As I’ve been told. If you really need to ask ..don’t do it

if you extend the breather tubes on the transmission, differentials, and transfer case then just below the door seal as the door seals won't keep out standing water, ever. if you don't extend the breather tubes then about 6", maybe a little more

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
    Top Gear answered that definitively.

Yes. Testical Water Depth calibration is recommended before any water crossing.

I have driven Connors hole on Drummond Island with zero issues. Water was over rear bumper. That wascabout 300 yards long, no stopping. Breathers all extended into engjne bay or fuel filler area.

When attempting a water crossing it's important to make sure your planned route is clear of any obstructions.
