Damn, highest level of water I'd ever risk going through is midway up the tires, unless it's a life or death situation. No point in f'ing up my truck for no good reason.

Drain and check plugs are bigger than my 21 mm. Buddy had a 15/16 which was close. Going to the parts store now.

Sorry guys, new to this what gear oil am I after as well?

    Like, so many.
It seems like for an OR model, Toyota would have done something to protect the rear diff from water.

Sometimes off-roading you don't have a choice, it can be more dangerous to turn around sometimes. Sometimes there isn't anywhere to turn around

Rear drain plug gasket and rear fill plug gasket need to be replaced as well when I'm doing an oil change? Looks like it just trying to confirm.

The fact that the intake is in the fender worries me. Isnt it now essentially lower than say back when the intakes were on top of the engines?

Top of tires, go slow (no bow wave), if possible stop and let diffs cool down to ambient before entering deep water. My personal rules. In an emergency those rules don't apply lol.

rear axle seals...you do a lot of mud above the axle your bearings will eventually growl
unless you are in the habit of pulling the axles and cleaning that business out

    diff breathers...mentioned

o2 sensors...they can stand a lot of crap, but on paper if you dip them in water
or mud you may contaminate the fresh air parton the sensor and it may make a false obd-II code

on the zirconium sensing element, the outside of it is exposed to the exhaust gas
while the inside of the bulb is vented internally through the sensor body or wiring to the outside atmosphere.

Going to get my sister during a flood; found out that the rear end of these trucks will float when deep enough = over the hood and hitting the windshield

I did that depth in my Tacoma Prerunner during an unexpected Ft. Worth flood. Handled it just fine.

I had mine with water completely over my roof over weekend. I guess for about fifty feet.

I will do it again in a couple weeks or so. But this time I'm going to pay $4 more for good wax.:D
