One thing you forget is some people have hookups, I buy Toyota stuff at cost :anonymous:

This is def a winning thread. Like many have said if you think you got a good deal who cares what others think? So you think your the best negotiator in the WORLD, would you like a cookie?

Don't know what to tell ya, except yea, I did. I think you don't understand pricing very well.

The butt hurt is strong with this one.

Does said truck even exist? For christs sake, 8 pages of posts, and not 1 picture of the deal of the century?

This Sh*t is funny. Welcome to the thunderdome. These guys are great. The reason you probably got an average deal compared the members of this forum is because 99% of the people on here dont lie and do research. You are not posting to jo schmo that you see every day. You might have recieved a great deal compared to your average everyday person. But from what Ive seen on here people try to learn from each other on here and get the best deal on any product. So chill out and start asking some questions about mods. You will learn some good stuff from these guys and will save you a few mistakes. Lets see some pics. Welcome to Tacoma World:)

Like I mentioned earlier some dealers want to move vehicles in volumes and others will sacrifice numbers to try and get the most for every vehicle. This is where it pays to visit all the local dealers and let them more or less bid against each other for your business. Especially given it was a cash deal. I would have walked in there with XXX amount of dollars and said this is what I want to pay, if you don't want to negotiate than have a nice day and I would have walked out. I've have done it over and over in my life. It's amazing how eager they are to negotiate once your getting back in your car or after a few hours pass and they decide to call you back. Which if they let me leave their parking lot my response has always been "F*ck You, the time to talk was when I was in your showroom."
Also as previously mentioned we just bought a new vehicle and I negotiated them down about 10K off sticker so 6K is not all that far fetched IMHO. (No hookups, no inside contact) It all depends on the dealer and the sales manager on how eager they are to move inventory and how much you want to stick to your guns even if it means possibly losing a pretty good deal that may already be on the table in hopes of getting an even better deal. When you get up to walk away from the deal often times if it's an aggressive dealership that will be the game changer for them as they will see your not going to let them bullshit you into a mediocre deal.

It is a good year to buy because they are offering incentives on tacomas(which they usually dont). and ecomy isn't greatest. I went to a dealer that had a quota of 250 cars and they were around 170 the begining of the 4th week. So that meant(to me) they were going to let a few go for the number. I tried to take advantage of that. I also visited three diff times an hour a piece. I got an 12' DC 4x4 SR5. MSRP 31,620. So I estemated 2K for tax, title, tags. I went in there with an 02' civic I could have gotten 4k outright. I had to finance 24K. So I use the 28k number OTD(24 financed + 4k Civic). So if you take the dealer original OTD price(33.5k - 28k OTD =5.5k) lot of variables though(shipping cost, also any add on outside of base package has an msrp and an invioce price also, so the 1700 entune might cost 1200 to dealer. so this is more room for possible savings.
