How did you decide on a color for your 3rd gen?

My dad had a 03 Ford F-250 that was Charcoal Grey with black interior. It was the most comfortable truck and looked really good. I always wanted a daily driver truck the same color scheme. So I got the Magnetic Grey Metallic with black leather.

 

I feel like we were all a part of something bigger than us.

Yeah, when I drove big three trucks with MT, it was never a choice about color, because there was usually only one vehicle with it available, if I was lucky.

My last truck before the Tacoma, I bought over the phone without a test drive, lol.

The last go round, I decided to cross over to the dark side (AT), and the SR5 Quicksand was the only Tacoma on the lot- when I saw it, it was " game over" - the Taco gods were in good spirits that day and deigned I would have something good , lucky me.

 

I went to the dealership dead set on Getting a white TRD Off Road. This was after a deal fell through for me at a different dealership that wouldn't work with me on a blue one that was growing on me but was the only one around that I could find. So white it was..

The dealership where I ended up buying my current truck had 2 white TRD Off Roads's in stock.

After a test drive in the white one and while I was backing it into the parking space to go work out numbers my Inferno pulls into the lot on a fresh dealer trade! That sparkly Orange caught my eye and I had to have it! SOLD!

What is kinda funny is thats kinda how I bought My since sold 2014 Charger RT Plus. I was walking the lot and kinda liked a couple different colors but wasn't quite sure. Went in to get rough numbers then decided to take another walk around the lot. Out in the far back corner of the lot I see orange, I didn't see this one before so I head over to investigate. It was a Header Orange Fully loaded RT Plus with the 5.7 Hemi! Bought it right then and there.

Its kinda cool how sometimes you just know, thats the one!

Also bought a 15 Golf TDI 6MT without a test drive... it's a TDI!

I bought my truck in February 2016 during the reign of Smitty, and consider myself lucky that I didn't join TW before buying the truck.

Really appreciate this great forum, and the hard work of Bob and his crew keeping it that way, but there was a time here when if you followed the threads, you probably would believe this 3rd gen Tacoma was the biggest POS ever made.

Things have been changing for the better.

My current truck is the best vehicle I have ever owned, and I can actually watch a Clint Eastwood movie again without thinking about gutless whining shitboxes, lol.
