Tully is actually my best friend/boss's dog, but I've known her since she was a puppy and I regularly take care of her so sometimes she may as well be my dog. She is a Boxador (Boxer/Labrador mix) named after her owner's favorite shot of whiskey...

    Booker. Book for short.

Huge Phoenix Suns fan and named after Devin Booker. I think it's pretty masculine and will end up fitting him well!

I make it a point to choose a name that you can yell easily. No Roguespierre's or Montegue's. Just Dusty.

We fostered my dog as “Tyson” and we got used to it and he was used to it so it was never a question of changing it.

people will say “oh, Tyson like the fighter?”
i go “no, Dyson like the vacuum” ;)

I went to get him a collar when adopting and I found one with a bow tie on it. The man I adopted him from was named David. I also think David Bowie is pretty cool, so I went with Bowie Tye.

First dog was Australian Heeler, so we named him Ozzie.

Second dog was a Burnese mix rescue dog that was named Champ and we didn't change it.

Third dog was a rescue mix and we named her Minka because my MIL thought her coat felt and looked like mink when she was still a pup.

Fourth dog was an AKC pom and we named him Tazman (Taz or Tazzy for short) after the Tazmanian devil.

Fifth dog is a pom and we picked him up on July 4th so his name is Sam (Sammy) after Uncle Sam.

6th dog is a AKC pom and she was named Mazikeen (Mazie for short) by the breeder.

Archer, named after the FX cartoon show. Picked it because he kinda looks like he's wearing a suit, with only his chest, and the tips of his toes/feet being white. Also fitting because he has a similar personality. Very smart, but acts like a bumbling idiot most of the time.

My first dog was a female Black Lab named Molly that we got in early 1995 from a breeder; She was born on December 11th, 1994 and lived until December 23rd, 2009! I forget how my parents decided upon her name...

Dog #2 was a female Corgi/Lab/Terrier mix names Mandy; She was a rescue and we got her in September 2018 at 11 weeks old. She was found along with her siblings in a box by the side of the road in South Carolina; She and her siblings were given the names Mandy, Madeline, and Marcus, respectively. We were originally going to name her Chloe, but we ultimately decided to give her the name she came with; Mandy was diagnosed with a rare congenital kidney defect about a month after we got her, and she ended up passing away at less than 1 year old in July 2019.

Porter, the dog we have now, came from the same rescue as Mandy; He is a male Black Lab (the big difference between him and Molly besides gender is that Molly was an English and Porter is an American). Porter and his brother Peru were born at an Amish puppy mill in October 2019 and surrendered to the rescue when the Amish breeders couldn't sell them; They were five months old, and the greedy Amish breeders didn't feel like paying for shots as required by the USDA. Porter was originally named "Portugal", and as stated above his brother was named Peru; The first time I met him, I abbreviated the name to "Porter", and when my parents got him for me as a 31st birthday present the name stuck!

Coco, son gave her that name. We got her at 7 weeks. She's going on 10 now. I call her Coco, Coco Bean and Bean. She answers to all.

    Freya,

Named for goddess of old.norwe mythology. And much like her namesake very much a lover of her humans and extremely affectionate yet if not part of the family she is fiercely protective.

So many great pics and great pups in here!

This is WesAnn's Lya of the Nox, and Ryland's Knave of Hearts. Lya and Knavey. Pardon the bed. They can't stand to have a made bed, and sleeping is the only time I can get a picture of them!

Lya got her name because we are big time Stargate fans, and the breeder approved it. Knavey got his name because the breeder required an Alice in Wonderland themed name for the litter.

This is Shadow. His name came about due to his coloring makes him disappear at night like a shadow. Also, he is bonded to me like my shadow.

In this pic he is about 18 months. Now, nearly 6 years old.
