how do adjust the rear brake pads

    ok so i wanted to change the rear pads and adjusted the star wheel. after i did that i had the idea to look inside and removed one of the rubber gramotts and the pads look fine. now the parking brake travels more than normal. how do i readjust the rear pads. i know what your thinking can't teach stupid... but can some one help

    Sure you didnt turn the adjustment wheel the wrong way? It should have slight resistance when turning the rear drum.

    i didn't remove the drum
    and the star wheel seams to only turn in one direction

    alternate bolts untill drum comes off

    Yes, that's what the star wheel accessed through the hole in the back is for. It turns only one way from there which is to tighten them. To loosen them using the star, you have to push in and hold a little level that keeps it from turning the wrong way and loosening them (which is a PITA from the back due to limited space, but it's sometimes necessary to get the drum off if the shoes have worn down a deep channel in the drums). Once you get a little resistance in turning the wheel, you're good. Then pump the e-brake a few times.
