All the threads I found are inquiring about buttons in different locations and/or Different model Tacomas?

How the heck do you get to this location to add a button?

I bought the wrong insert (thanks to wrong information) for a brake box button.

    thanks

In not sure how its built on the 2nd gens, but if you want behind that panel in the 3rd gens, you have to pull EVERYTHING. From dash to console.

Most people found it easier to just get down to the climate controls and fish from there.

There should be YouTube videos from various installers.

Pop out the A/C controls and you have some access to the back of them, enough to get behind and pop out the balnks.

I installed a trailer brake controller on one of the blanks, google how to remove the center console and you should be able to access it through that. I never had to remove the dash to install the trailer brake controller in the blanks.

They are very easy to pop out from the front

Gently pry or even just screw a screw into the middle of the blank and pull it out

    Thanks for the help everyone!

I at one point thought about simply drilling a hole in it. Since that was suggested and sounded easiest I gave it a try and it only took 5 seconds!!

I guess my post was to confirm if other people have done that and make sure no one says “don’t do that it’s such a hassle”!

    Thanks again!
