How do I convince my wife to take advantage of this deal

My boss got a new truck and has offered me his 2016 Camry at he low end of the "trade in" value according to KBB. The price is $13,500. She has a Dodge Journey that is paid off but I hate that thing and its getting worse as the miles go up.

Tell her you want to buy it, for your new girlfriend. Let us know if she leaves you and punches you in the face, or just punches you.

 

Put some oil on the ground under the current car and tell her its done for.

 

Get a Carvana/Vroom instant offer, which should match or beat what you can buy it for. Ask her to drive it for a month, and if she doesn't like it you can sell it for what you paid, or even make a little.

Well, does she even like cars? I hate driving cars and would take pretty much any SUV over a car.

 

Start test driving a Corvette. When she says no to that, "well, there is the camry..."

Or you know, you could try talking. Talking works. Take her to go see the car.

She says she wants an SUV but don't like the mileage and higher cost of maintenance ect.. I'd rather get a Rav4 but this car is almost to good to pass up.

I mentioned this a week or so ago. She's just stubborn.

 

If I were you, I would just buy it anyway. And if push comes to shove, I would sell it for more than what I payed for it.... But I guess there's a reason I'm not on my first marriage LOL

A Camry is going to be far more reliable than her Dodge and future cost of maintenance less. Tell her “ok keep your Dodge but when you’re on the side of the road when it breaks down don’t call me.”

Get the car for your new girlfriend.
That way when she leaves and takes the car you’re not out to much.
Be sure too drink heavily before executing this plan.

 

LOL, I am married to a stubborn Italian also. I swear she hates me so much she won't leave just so she can ruin my life. Seems extremely dedicated to the cause. All jokes aside maybe get her to drive one. Just go to the dealer and have her test drive a few things and make sure the Camry is one of them. Ease her into it and worst case tell her to drive it for a few weeks and then you could trade her old car and the Camry in on what she wants. Tell your boss she could not see out of the back window or something and thank him for the deal as it was all that allowed you to get her into something she is comfortable with. Should be no skin off his back as he gets the same either way. I would not mind if one of my employees did that. Or tell him right off the bat you intend to trade it and make sure he is cool with that. He is probably offering it to you for that as a perk or because he does not want to deal with it.

 

Where to mount raptor lights on that stubborn Italian wife? Need a new extraction hook?
