A few OE parts from fancy trucks
If you disassemble to remove spacers, or just want to try something......

Either leave all the artiulating points with bushings loose, or loosen them. Any you had apart.

Put the truck on the ground. Bounce the corners a few times. Drive it back and forth in the drive a couple of times, tapping brakes enough to give it some bounce.

Then torque all those points while in compression.

If nothing else you'll prolong the life of all those bushings.

Opinions on this angle? Hearing wildly different opinions on diff drops and whether they mean anything at all. Stock shocks, waiting for some aftermarket ones coming in. Currently on 1.5" strut spacers.

outer boots look good but your inners are rubbing fins. In this case you might be good doing the boot slide mod on the inner boots.

The front sits as high as the rear with hd dakars. I dont think I wanna wait to see how much it settles, ill prolly blow the cv by then..I think im going to do a few things while the fronts apart again.
1st take the the 1/2" spacer out the driver side and put the 1/4" thats on the passanger side in there
2nd put the ecgs bushing in
3rd prolly take that dif drop out
4th losen upper and lower control arms and torque them after level ground bounce
HOPEFULLY by then i have normal 887 cv angles with no vibes20180621_180727.jpg

Ya i think so. I just got greedy but pretty sure the 887 alone with dakars will sit nice with a bit of rake. And hopefully my angles get better

I have a 1" drop netting 1/2" diff drop at the CV's. Have wheeled pretty hard at various angles up to 60 degrees with no issues. A lot of people make thoughtful claims but I've never seen actual proof of failure due to diff drop. Have you seen or read any failures? Only case i've seen was someone racing 60+ mph with a modified skid plate to allow diff drop and got caught and ripped the mount off.

How much lift are you running?
did you drop it that much because your cv angles and did it correct it?

I'm running 3" and my angles are pretty flat. I'll take a picture after work. I also run full skids plates that are designed for 1" drop.

The rule of thumb is you don't want the ribs to be touching when it sits leveled. But then again alot people run 3" without diff drops and unless you are wheel it hard... wheels at full droop with quiet a bit of power or jolting motions going through the CV you shouldn't have any real issues.

I meant an increased diff drop like 3in. or more (sounds crazy but I've seen some really gnarly diff drops). Some people just keep stacking 1" washers.

1" is the standard diff drop, that's what I have in too. I didn't notice much change at all with my angles when I did it. It helped the inner boots the most but my outers didn't get affected much.
