The truck need a bath. So I foamed it and the rinsed and repeated. It still did not take the road grime off. Is there something out there that will do that or is it something you have to wash off by hand?

How much pressure are you running? Is the water hot or cold? These factors are important. I would be worried that the clear coat would get scratched if you used a wash mitt with that much on the truck.

Try some simply green before the wash...let it soak a few minutes.

This stuff has treated me well.
A PH neutral soap is nothing more than a lubricant for wiping your car with a mit. Don't be afraid of a non PH neutral soap.

Let me get this strait, a guy named "McGuyver" is asking how to get dirt off his truck? Arms bro. Arms, hands, wash mitts and shit. Just giving you a hard time but yeah just wash it like your grandpa had to and you should be fine.

    all tore up already
id say use a decent Mitt and some elbow grease. If you are worried, 2 bucket wash and maybe a polish or wax after but I'll be the first to mention it in this thread: it's a truck. And I'm guessing you dont stress over micro scratches or youd never wipe dirt with fingers. Micro scratches happen, especially on a truck that gets used as a truck. Paint is soft and correctable. Will never get the "touch free wash" outside of a carwash, the chemicals they use are very powerful

Yup, as the others stated, you're gonna have to scrub it. IMO, you'll never get a car clean enough with just pressure wash + foam + pressure wash. At least in my experience, even if the car is only lightly dirty you still need to wipe it down with a mitt.

I could mix something up, but then the paint would fall off. LOL

I used cold water, Pressure not as high as car wash. I guess I figured with the foaming that it would take most all of it off and then you use a mitt.
I will try some Simple Green or Purple Power next time.

Anyone used the 303 Touchless Sealant? I tried it and seem to work well. I will see after the next rain.

yeah that only comes off by hand wash and it that doesn't come off with that then you will probably have to clay bar it.

I used purple power non ph neutral soap to remove road grime and traffic film (hand wash with mitt) then apply a new SiO2 spray sealant or spray wax til the next wash.

When I switched to the foam cannon process I too was a little disappointed the pressure washer didn't take off more than it doe. But, it's still my preferred method as I use a lot less water, it's faster and I get better results with likely less damage to my paint.

I would not use simple green or purple power. You should use a gentle soap to clean your cars paint so that the wax/sealant lasts longer. If you use a more harsh soap that degrades or outright removes the wax then you're going to be doing more harm than good in the long run.

    1. You should be applying a high quality wax ever 3-12 months. Not the crap at the local automatic car wash. I've found that when applied by hand the wax goes on thicker and lasts longer. If I apply with a buffer I can wax the car quickly but it doesn't last more than a few months. Environmental conditions play a big role in how long your wax will last as well.
    2. Wash the car regularly to help prevent as much contaminants as possible from settling into your paint. Use a gentle soap that won't degrade your wax.
    3. Park the car inside if possible, this is good for a multitude of reasons and is hugely beneficial.
    4. Every now and then, strip off the wax, clay bar and then apply a fresh coat of wax. I try to do this about once a year but it depends. Usually I just feel the paint to see when it's needed.

NEVER go to a drive through car wash they almost never change those brushes or sponge things that are used to wash your car. Over time you will have small starburst scratches in you paint/clear coat. Best way is to just take the time and hand wash it yourself whether that is with a pressure washer or not.

Yeah, you can't expect even a high pressure washer to take some of this off. letting it soak to soften the grime up, then gently going over it with a wash mitt, two bucket method, and you're golden. anything that stays behind clay

Simple green is fine on tires maybe wheels and things like all weather mats. But not on the paintwork.
I would pressure wash off most of the dirt, use foam if you have it it will soften up the crud. then use a soft microfiber mit or wash pad to wash off the rest. Use Plenty of car wash soap to make good suds. Use a second bucket to Rinse the mit before going to wet it with more soapy water. Use one of those git guard things in the bottom too if you are that picky about scratches. Rinse with clean water. Dry right away. I like a synthetic shammy like the Absorber, it hold lots of water and easy to ring out.

Microfiber and wash by hand, use Klasse all-in-one, maybe half a tablespoon in a big bucket will clean the whole truck, and maintain any sealant you have already applied.

Yikes, don't waste your time waxing if you're gonna wash with Simple Green. I'd start with something far less potent than that.
