Not even a few drops? Based on the area of the grime build up, I figure 5 to 10 mL was lost. How accurate does the oil amount have to be?

A little oil makes a biiiig stain. You didn't lose that much oil.

In addition, can we stop calling it Freon?

A134 is a refrigerant but it is not Freon.

Where can I get a cheap but decent vacuum pum quickly? Amazon prime is 3 weeks for delivery because of the Coronavirus.

I got mine from Harbor Freight. It was only 3 bucks more than Amazon.

The only way to know how much oil to put in the system is to completely flush the system, then add oil to the components. But a few drops won't hurt a thing, maybe. ;)

You are right, A134r is not Freon. However, Freon is part of the American lexicon, as is Xerox, Crescent Wrench, Kleenex, and many others. I believe that it will be difficult to change behaviors in trying to "stop calling it Freon."

Do I pull vacuum from the low side or both low and high sides? I’ve seen it done both ways on YouTube.

I have a 2010 taco V6 4x4 double cab. I'm getting ready to replace the condenser and the evaporator. I know I am supposed to add 1.4 fl. oz to evaporator and condenser. Any tips on how to add the Pag oil to the evaporator, condenser and the compressor? Also do I need to remove the compressor to change the Pag oil? Thank you all in advance.

First, why are you replacing the evaporator? Are you certain it is leaking?

I would strongly suggest you get a 2nd opinion from an independent shop. It is the most expensive part to replace, labor wise. IF it is not leaking, it does not need replaced. The whole dash needs pulled to replace it!
