Hey y’all I’m back with another probably obvious question. I’m wanting some of those Baja designs rock lights. Can my regular truck battery handle that or what all do I need to get? And how do I wire them up? If anyone could help me or give me any advice I’d appreciate it!

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Yes, led’s are low amperage. Cheers!

A switch panel can make wiring easier if you have plans for multiple lights and or accessories. Plus it simplifies the wiring process.

The difficulty will differ depending on how much experience you have with wiring and lighting.

I can recommend that you get a fuse box off of Amazon if you plan on having more lighting in the future. I'll link mine.

If rock lights will be your only lights, they can be wired directly to the battery. A fuse panel allows you to have a secondary hub for your custom lighting that feeds off of your main battery and has short circuit protection. And yes, your battery can handle rock lights (which are probably the lowest amperage light you could install). My battery is powering 18 watt reverse lights, 40 watt ditch lights, and a 60 something watt lightbar all with ease.

Here's a link for one that can power 6 different things: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PRNZ2JL

It's a decent amount to get into but basically you're gonna wire that box to the battery with thicker 10 or 12 gauge wire. You can poke thru an existing hole in the firewall to get inside the cab. Mount that box somewhere in the cab (not waterproof). I did mine underneath my radio with 3m tape, there's some real estate back there. Then from there you can use the wiring harness that comes with your rock light (or buy one online for cheap) to hook it up and position your switch somewhere handy. I don't have rock lights but I've seen plenty, it looks like people screw them into the wheel well, or super glue idk. probably some YouTube videos about it.

My switch panel on my 1st gen was custom but not too hard to install: IMG_7004.jpg
and that's basically it. again watch some YouTube videos about it. Equipment you'll need is gonna be some butt connectors, heat shrink if you're fancy, electrical tape, wire strippers and zip ties. Good luck and let me know if u have questions!

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Get some help . Do research .

read up on simple DC circuits

Do you have a multi meter yet ?

It is not hard but going in blind can go wrong so easy.

    Good luck!

Regular battery is plenty sufficient. Like others have mentioned, figure out if you want expansion and where you will wire switches. It's all pretty straightforward work. I have no idea what I'm doing 80% of the time and threw this together after a couple hours searching online. Allows for tons of expansion and it is all wired into the center console where I have a 3gang switch.

    Hey @2000toyotatacoV6,
Our rock lights draw very low amps coming in at .4amps per light. Depending on how many you plan on running, these will just need power and ground. We also sell a kit of 4 with a wiring harness that goes directly to your battery for power.
