One of my rear leaf spring u-Bolts broke. while I was on a trip in another state. I had a friend welded it together as a temp fix until I got home. I ordered and got a new u bolt. How do I install the rear leaf spring u-Bolts for 2022 tacoma they shift around and don't know if they need to be straight or not how flush does the bottom knuckle thing have to sit.
    Anyone have a guide ?

Note friend installed the welded bolt.

If stock, the bump stop cradle keeps the u-bolt top from sliding up and down the leaf pack. Then you slide it through the axle housing flange that the leaf pack sits on. Then washer stack and nut.

There's not much to it. If you're only replacing a bolt, then just remove the old one and pop the new one on and tighten down. IIRC it's around 75 ft/lbs for the factory style u-bolts, and 90-100 ft/lbs for a flip kit. This might help:

There’s a locating pin on the leaf.
If the pin is in the leaf. Its centered.

Then, just put the u-bolt on and tighten it down.

If you're question is about how much to tighten each ubolt, I just try to have the same number of threads beneath the nut on the front and back ubolt.
