Renting. Looks like I'll probably just be parking on the street. This thread is probably pretty pointless since I don't math so good and thought I only had to worry about half an inch. But thank you all for not making me feel like a total moron....you're way nicer than I might have been. ;)

    1. Park in the garage with the door open and shotgun loaded (not stored in the garage obviously).
    2. Park the truck with two wheels on the curb to flex in front of all your neighbors.
    3. Donate your truck to me and go get a Jeep which is guaranteed to fit in your garage.

If there is no room for canopy do what I did and get a truck cover. I bought one that is coated with rustoleum never wet hydrophobic technology and the water runs off like the plague...I too was short 6” in my garage but that’s because I have shelving racks all around the walls of the garage for organization and didn’t want to get rid of them...or else I could fit. Get a ceramic coat if you don’t want a car cover...

I'm coming from a 06 Wrangler LJ. Love it, and and will miss it, but it's time for a change. I want the truck for overlanding, camping, and having a decent ride on the highway for roadtrips.

Garage too short? Host a teenage party and leave your car keys on the refrigerator hook! Thats what our friends did when they left their 17 year old daughter alone for one night. The back end of their garage had a new opening in it when they got home. :bananadance:

If u haven't taken possession on your 18 truck yet back out and tell them u want short bed. Or just rent for a year and find new place in year once u get there. I'd hate to park outside in Colorado in the winter if I had a choice. Either way nice area to move too from Austin. Did your job transfer it did you find new one to relocate

Agreed park outside. I can’t believe this is a real thread. How do I make my truck shorter? You can’t ... not that much without Frankenstein.

Lower your truck many residential garages are not tall enough to accommodate a truck.

DCLB already a done deal, and I'll make it work somehow, but yeah it'll be a nice change, it's supposed to be over 100 for the next few days at least in Austin. GF got a job, and I can work remotely since all I really need to do my job is be connected to the information superhighway. I should probably tell my boss soon, however. ;)

Yup, I acknowledged and said that.

Originally thought it was only half an inch which would be a bit more plausible of something that could be doable. I don't know if you just read my original post without the edit, but I know I can't take off that much. Thanks for the confirmation though. ;)

After armor my truck won't fit unless I park it at an angle.. I have to push it in by hand though.
