The more items you start adding (sliders (steps)), skid plate, tires, roof rack, etc) the less your gas mileage is going to be. The more weight you add to the truck, fuel efficiency will decrease, not increase.

 

Maximizing performance vs. making it look like it's off-road capable are opposite goals. The best way to maximize performance on-road is to keep it completely stock.

I say, forget about the lift, the sliders, the bumper, and tires. These will all suck valuable power and reduce gas millage. Go for the stickers and trim mods. Upgrade your audio system.

Generally speaking there isn't really a right or wrong just depends on what your needs/wants are and what you want to do. For the most part just mod it however you want its your truck.
