I'll be sure to do that. lol

Axles get buried and rigs get high centered all the time. Snow conditions are what make that happen. This was fresh dry powder. It doesn't compact enough to cause issues. 3 days later after it gets a few thaw cycles that's a different story. But, you already knew that since you do so much snow wheeling. lol

That be it. I’ve ran it multiple times in the past without issue but got stuck on a bad line that time around.

Yeah, it seems to need a specific line or it's just a bunch of frustration otherwise. I've only tried it the one time in this pic but couldn't make it through without pulling winch, so I just backed off and went about my day.

I thought of another question for those with arb lockers. Can they be engaged/disengaged instantaneously? In the scenario I’m imagining, I’ll engage it, do a small part of the obstacle, disengage it, move a little more, then re-engage it.

edit: only turning it on/off while stopped

Or are they like the factory e lockers that require a little finesse and wiggling about to get it to engage.

    not to be recommended

it is possible to get an IFFY partial disengagement / engagement

    resulting in chipped/broken teeth ( grenade !)

no doubt it has been tried...................on exception with success

    good luck

Yes they can. Unlike e-locers ARB locks and unlocks instantly as long as there is no torque being applied to the unit.

Everyone I wheel with does that. You'll crawl up something locked but need to adjust. You turn the locker off, back up a bit while turning the wheel , turn the locker back on then proceed ahead. The main benefit of a being able to unlock is it frees up the steering. When your locked it can be very hard to turn the wheel.

Might want to quit while your behind.

"When you need the extra traction, simply turn on your compressor, approach the difficult terrain, take your foot off of the accelerator and press the Air Locker switch – even if you are still moving"

    Page 4 under "Operating instructions".

I suppose another good question is the journey the goal or is the destination the goal.
Quite a few folks go and find the roughest terrain they can and conquer it. It might just be a mud bog or pile of rocks they can approach in 2WD. And once through motor away.
For others, and I’m mostly in this group, use the vehicle capability to overcome obstacles on the easiest route to a destination.
Now just because a route is the easiest doesn’t mean it’s easy.

I go and seek out rough terrain for the sole purpose of conquering it. I like to push the truck to its limits and see what it’s capable of and I also enjoy the problem solving aspect of getting through some gnarly stuff.

Cool. Then you know sometimes things are going to break. The challenge is figuring out what is most likely to break and having the tools and parts to fix it

Absolutely, just part of the game.
I’m pretty prepared with spare parts and fluids and tools.
