Wonder why they changed those? In 05-15, you just turn the whole clip and they pop off, then stick it back in sideways and turn it to reset it in the hole.

    Thank you Kheiron!
I just used your tips and they were helpful.
Got one installed and when installing 2nd pone the metal clip snapped.
Time to order a new clip.

Here are some tips to installing a TOYOTA TACOMA ATTIC.
    1. The Blueridge Overland instructions suck.
    2. The two Clothing Hooks in 2017 Tacoma are clipped in. Why they are not screwed in i will never know. The design sucks.
    3. To remove there are 3 small rectangular shaped cap pop offs that can be pried open with a small screwdriver
    4. After you pop off cap you will see silver clip. Just squeeze close and hook comes out.
    5. Now you can install TOYOTA TACOMA ATTIC.
    6. Dont break any little parts removing or installing like I did.

You’d think for $70 or whatever that they would include instructions or a spare metal clip.

Edit: BROG has some super high quality kit and I WILL buy from them again. But, their item descriptions and instructions are pretty atrocious.

Hahah of course there's a thread for this. I'm trying to install my attic right now and have already broken one of the plastic tabs trying to get the rear coat hooks reinserted and STAY up there. This design is awful. Going to try what one of the previous guys said to put the plastic hook up first, then reinsert the metal clip, which is contrary to Blue Ridge Overland's instructions... thought this would be the easiest mod ever...never.

Thanks guys! Just got my BROG attic up and appreciate the thread on the install. Covers and clips were a little tricky (and the instructions still suck). Info here was helpful as always.
A little smaller than I was expecting, but there aren’t any other options.
Not sure about that icky bag - little did you all know Covid beat the zombie apocalypse.
