So I'd like to remove it and paint it black. Like The Rolling Stones. It is absolutely blinding in the morning sun. Any advice is appreciated.

Screenshot_20200317-221558_Amazon Shopping.jpg I don't know why these guys use screwdriver to pry off shit. There are cheap tools for that. It's hard plastic. One oopsy and you won't gouge the plastic.
Or when you need to pry off a small stubborn Festoon bulb. Try THAT with a screwdriver.
    I always have these handy.

I can’t tell if those are glass-fiber-reinforced. From the photo, it looks like they’re just straight plastic, which means they’re going to be bendy pieces of shit. A lot of the cheap kits on Amazon are plain nylon with the strength of a wet noodle.

These, on the other hand, are reinforced. Or at least they were when I bought them six months ago. You know how things are on Amazon.

    Re: trim tools
If you want to be a hipster, use a fishbone. (There's a reason we call them that, they used to be whalebone. They worked well but I'm very ok with the replacements.)
