I am actually wondering if it's because I used 99% isopropyl. I read somewhere that you can't even leave the cap off for a few seconds because it evaporates so quickly. Maybe 91% is the trick...

Just to make sure I understand: the idea is for the fabric/paper towel to stay in place over the sticker, right? Or the other way around?

I did test between 70% and 91%. I used 91% to get the first sticker off, but it did leave the most residue. There was a difference between the two. 91% was pretty much useless for other uses (window cleaning) because it did evaporate too quickly.

I'd go with what folks noted with an iron. I did not use that.

Otherwise, a steamer was most helpful for what I had at the time.

FYI, replacement visors for a 2019 Tacoma are more expensive than the same thing for a 2024 BMW M4 Competition. By like $100.

Let’s call whatever you’re going to use medium. There is always a piece of medium between the iron and the visor.
First pass, the sticker will peel off easily in a single piece (if it gives you trouble, iron some more) after you’re done ironing, but there will be adhesive residue left on the visor.
Every subsequent use of the iron should be with a clean piece of medium.
Put the medium over the residue and place the iron on the medium, moving it constantly to avoid melting anything. You are heating the adhesive residue and getting it to stick to the clean piece of medium.
Lift the medium off the visor and throw it away. If there’s still residue on the visor, repeat with a clean piece of medium until it’s gone. Light pressure may help. Start with the iron on a lower temp and if you aren’t seeing the results you want, turn it up slowly in small increments.
I just went full tilt on “cotton” setting first go, but if you’re worried about melting anything start lower

the teeshirt is there to keep the iron from burning visor, the decal has to be heated in some way to loose the glue......hair dryer might work too

Self repost. This is the way. Never dealt with alcohol, came off clean. Keep your fingers in the heat so you don't accidentally melt things.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
A heat gun will remove it, but it does leave a residue. It was the very first thing I did when I brought my new truck home. Personally, I'd rather look at the glue residue than the sticker, but it's your call to make with your truck.

If you don't want to look at either, then reupholstering will be your only option.
