I have a CEL code for a transmission range sensor. These things are stupidly overpriced, so first I want to take it off and give it a thorough cleaning and hope it fixes it. Theres one bolt that aligns it and then it seems to be attached to the gear shifter axle thing. I don't know how to get it off of it. In the pictures I have seen it appears to have a slotted hole that slips over the shifter axle, but on mine it seems to be one piece... am i just seeing it wrong and its just seized onto it and needs a little roughhousing to wiggle off? Insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

    What's the code?
Just start by disconnecting it, clean the connector end and the component end with electrical cleaner, plug it back in. Do a hard reset (batt disconnect) and see what happens.
