I thought they all had the capability to beep. Just have to be programmed.

I had another vehicle that didn't beep & I had the dealer reprogram it to beep when I bought it.

I like the beep when I lock but not when I unlock. Sometimes I don't lock until I'm walking away and listen for the beep to be sure.

I also wish all 4 doors would unlock on the first signal. I had this on my 04 and nothing changed with my 09.

Final gripe...the steady beeeeeeeep when you lock with a door open.

Fortunately, the positive far out weighs the negative :D :burnrubber:

Wow, I gotta do this one too. You think your situation is bad? Here's my scenario, my electronic tailgate lock is activated from the passenger door: So I unlock the the tailgate (4beeps) while I'm loading my stuff in the bed it automatically locks itself after a min or so if I haven't opened a door (1 more beep) then me and a passenger get in (4 more beeps); that's 9 BEEPS! several times a day, ARGH!

    Thanks!

Does anyone know exactly where the buzzer is located?
I'm wondering if I can wrap a towel or some dynomat around it to quiet it down.
I feel like an asshole at 5am when I need to unlock all my doors and my truck sounds like a god damn marching band.

This flat out works on the 2009. I did mine with the door open, though. There was a subtle beep-beep confirmation.

Excellent......no more beeping when I open the door at 4:50 AM. I just deleted the seat belt chime a few minutes ago, now the door opener beep is gone. Sweet silence! :)

    Thanks for the great tip!

I posted somewhere about this, but buy a pair of foam earplugs--the kind you roll between your fingers, stick them in your ears, and let them expand to fill your ear canal.

Open the hood. Look in front of the battery--there is a little black box with a hole in it that faces back toward the battery. This is the beeper. If you are uncertain, press your remote--you will quickly find the right box!

Now, roll one of the foam earplugs between your fingers until it is smashed thin, and stick it in the hole. Let it expand.

It doesn't totally shut off the beep, but it makes it WAY quieter. I can park next to my neighbor's window without worrying about waking them up late at night when I lock or unlock my doors.

I used a piece of electrical tape and put it over the little beeper box hole.

originally I just unplugged the beeper box to eliminate the beep but it messed up the ability to roll electric windows up after the truck cuts off and the key is out of the ignition so I plugged the beeper back in and used the tape. it is a lot quieter now.

are you saying that this allows you to have the key in the ignition with the door open and not have the beep and does it eliminate the beeping when the truck is turned on?

No, the instructions in this thread only silence the beeper when using the remote door opener to lock / unlock the doors.

Earlier, I found instructions [thread=12080]in another thread[/thread] that explain how to silence the seat belt chime. It still chimes when the key is in the ignition and the door is open. It also chimes for about 5 seconds when the engine is started and you aren't wearing your seatbelt, but then it stops. For me, this makes the trip from the mailbox to my house a little more pleasant. :)

Sorry if my earlier message was confusing.

ok, thanks for the response. I will keep an eye out on how to eliminate the inside of the truck beep when the door is open. there is a way to rewire the wiring in the steering wheel console but that is to much for me at the moment. maybe there is a programmable operation out there and just have not found it yet.
I thought about taping the release lever on the door that operates the door open beep so the computer thinks the door is closed all the time, though I do like that the lights in the truck adjusts to the door closing and go out a few seconds afterward and whenever the door closes the headlights will cut off by themselves if they are left on . might give that a try
