Worked perfectly on my 15 Prerunner SR5. Thanks for posting the instructions. At first I could not get it to work. Not sure why. I left the truck for a while, puzzled. Came back, followed the process by counting the seconds and it worked. I got no confirmation beep when the reconfiguration mode was activated though, and pushed the "lock" button twice. At that point I got 2 beeps. Might help those who were not successful yet.

I'm glad you revived this thread. I don't like the beeps either. I assumed I had to have the dealer turn it off. I'm going to do this tomorrow.

I have a 2015 Tacoma and this worked finally. A couple of hints: the hints section was a little confusing, i left my drivers door opened and you double click the lock button.

So happy to get rid of the annoying beeps i just wish i could get rid of the seat belt buzzer.

Some people have posted that they went to the dealer and told them that their dog rides in the front seat and they would like to have the dinger turned off.

The video a couple pages back no longer works. Anybody else know how to turn the beeps back on? I bought my truck used and it doesn't beep, but I want it to beep. Thanks!

Take your truck to any Toyota dealership. You don't need a reason, just walk up to the parts desk and ask if they can turn your seat belt alarm off. They'll ask "Why?" and you can literally say "Because it's annoying." If you get some wise-ass who "advises against it" tell him "Thanks, but no thanks." In and out, it took me and a parts guy all of three minutes.

Old thread. But I used the steps outlined here after replacing my original battery. One tip that worked for me was to hit the lock button two times in quick succession.

It is easily done with certain scan tools or Techstream, "manual" way below.

Mines never beeped. But if it did, it wouldn’t bother me.
There was a time I never wore my seat belt. Now I feel “weird” if I’m not wearing it.

I have a 2010 DCSB SR5, I think my automatic start might be aftermarket, i’m not sure. I bought the truck used, in October, and can’t stand the beeps. i just happened to figure out how to stop them with just the FOB. E9FA1203-8194-45FE-8181-212DE5A5A303.jpg
If i press the trunk pop button once before unlocking, or locking the doors, the beeps are silenced! NICE!! If i want the beeps, just press the lock or unlock without pressing the trunk pop.
