    So lane departure doesn't have sensitivity settings, the precollision/ adaptive cruise control does. you may have activated that system instead. the lane deperture has its own independent steering wheel button and an indicator that comes on as so have mentioned.

    it takes a second with default sensitivity. so that can't be changed???

    it definitely would give you plenty of time to hit something, but maybe the sensor would see whatever is ahead.
