Tried that when I bought my taco. Dealer would only let me put $3k on the card.

Millennial here. That looks scary as shit, but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and I bet I could learn if you showed me. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for most of my friends/peers.

Here's my advice on it all: go to college and get a degree or enter a trade, either way just challenge yourself. Always be constantly learning and allow yourself to learn. I learned how to manually machine because I was impatient and couldn't wait for some prototypes so I had the machinist in my old shop teach me during our free time. I learned to weld out of necessity. Don't be afraid to challenge what people say, and don't get offended when someone challenges you.

From the time I was 5, people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up- carpenter!

No degree, but I was lucky enough to go from carpenter to a white collar job in my field, and was pretty successful.

After many years, i got downsized last big recession, and decided to pick up the hammer again.

Lots less stress, but regular hours and more "job satisfaction".

Love seeing things built....really in my blood. If/when I can't do the physical anymore, I will figure something out.

And absolutely trades jobs are not for everyone.

This is why I'm working on my degree. I'm a Merchant Mariner and if I get hurt and can no longer pass the biennial USCG physicals to keep my license current, I need a plan B to support my family. Shitty part is even with a degree I'll be lucky to make in a year what I make in a few months sailing.

Yes, a degree is better than a YouTube education. If you don’t think it is, then you have other problems.

And see, this is where you sound immature. You think having a “high level” job at a multimillion dollar company is all thatM and that you’re successful? Dude, you’re proud to be working for The Man? Seriously? You have a lot to learn buddy

Alright, one of you fools come up with a rear winch mount for us already. Don't make me do it. It'll weight too much and the welds are gonna look like shit.

This is similar to my situation moneywise. I can transition to a number of other things, but none pay what I'm used to. Luckily my license requirements are all mental though. Fortunately I'm holding strong there. Or as good as I ever was anyways.

I was thinking about this the other day, with 1/2 ton trucks costing 50-65K when optioned and 3/4 ton trucks starting at 45K with a diesel the reason for this increase in automotive cost has to be that the automotive industry knows that credit is easy enough to get that about any smuck can get a loan to buy these trucks, and if they can't pay the note then it get's repo'd and they can still sell it for $$$ because the cost of new is astronomical.

Even as a welder? I'm going into LE, my plan B was my associates in welding, pays way better than LE but I don't have a passion for it.

I think you should ask for a refund for your MBA. Your clearly incapable of digesting written information. You resort to personal attacks when someone disagrees with you. Just flashing creds to prove im not a caveman. Have a good night.

Odd I wasn’t the one that said I work for The Man at a multimillion dollar company ?

If I were to attack you, I’d say something along the lines of I’ll always have my degree , while you probably won’t always have that job. How’s that one?
