I may not have a cool truck but I think this is pretty cool, I’d rather keep this than have a “sweet” truck.

Ugh seeing that thing reminds me of the my first job, Logging. Logging sucked and we used this thing to move logs and chippers. I thought we called it an ASV?

You ever used a Deere or Bobcat skid? Wondering how they compare.

    Dilly Dilly!

I put over 20k in my Ford.

I wouldn’t go back or do it differently. I knew I was spending money I would never get back but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
I drove a bomb ass truck in high school and college.
I paid cash for every mod and just worked more if I needed more $$$

I’m not sure I will do it again though. Not unless I end up fairly well off in the future. Even then you value money more and more as you age.

It was a nice time back in the day with no responsibilities and only my wants to worry about.
Now its a spouse, 401ks, mortgages, future law school debt, and future kids to save for.

Was a great life while it lasted though...

Now its time to build your life rather than dig yourself into a hole.

ASV Makes good machines, they’re a little “industrial” for our application, we typically do dirt work and brush cutting but we do also do some forestry mulching.

I’ve never used a Deere, I sat in one and it was comfortable but the dealer around here isn’t worth a flip so we didn’t pursue a demo or anything.
We also looked at bobcat, I’m personally not a fan of the foot controls (bobcat does have the joystick option however), the hydraulic flow wasn’t as good as the Cat, and the dealer support isn’t as large locally.
We looked at Kubota as well and we almost demo’d a unit but after talking to a local guy who had the largest unit we decided against it because of his experience. He had coolant issues with his, blew an engine under 10 hours, they replaced it under warranty however after the replacement his machine still ran hot.

Nice man I’ll be applying next year. I got my associates already and next year I will have my BS. I’m glad I went through with it and got an education. I feel like you learn a lot of valuable things that someone straight out of HS just wouldn’t have. Especially for LE

I like Bobcat the best, the ones I've been in recently don't have foot controls anymore. I like being able to choose ISO or H pattern controls

I’ve let a few people run it, my dad, grandpa, and a friend of the family who has run equipment for years, as well as the son of a former co-worker (the son works at a gun shop so any way I can help convince him to lower prices I will try) other than that I typically don’t, however with the right incentives I would....

For my part i use to smoke 2 oz of weed every week and about 8 pack of smoke a week, when to the bar every weekend and one day i made the total of all this for every month and finally came to the point i should quit all of it to have something eles in returne. The point of it is when you really want something you can find a way to get it if you do the right thing. Always focus on what you wish an one days you’ll get it

Awesome! I just went with an associates.
The college experience has really helped with my people skills as did starting and running this dirt business.

One big positive about the department I applied to down here is my assosciates takes 2 years off of every promotion, whereas the other department required a bachelors to have any benefits other than a base pay increase.

I do like how the bobcats doors open more than the Cat, so far I’m happy with the Cat, the salesman and support have been great.
