She does alright. The taco could use some more grunt but to me it's nicer to have a legit 4x4 when I get where I'm going than to save 30 mins getting there. It's about 3600 loaded. I slow down to about 50 on the big hills to save gas anyways.

How's the travel trailer in cold weather have you had it in freezing or below nights on the rim? Condensation build up inside or pipes freeze?

We had it below freezing on a hunting trip late November. It wasn't that cold but I still blew all the water out of the pipes, emptied the waterheater and put some a antifreeze in the black tank before heading up. We just "roughed it" with out showers or dish water that weekend lol.

    Camper:$350 from a buddy
I painted it and built a bed/table in the back and tore out the walls and insulation and replaced the insulation and walls. Also replaced the vent on top and had the canvas canopy redone. Total invested is $790.
It has a propane stove and small refrigerator. It has a sink, but no plumbing. 5 minutes with a Mr heater gets it cookin.

    It weighs 970lbs.

These both look really good. I could do something like this, as a backup type thing. Would be kinda nice.

Best truck I had for camping was my 1988 4runner, fold the seats flat, roll out the sleeping pads, throw the sleeping bags on top and you're golden. Never bothered to mod that truck because it was so good off road as is, short wheel base, massive ground clearance, steel bumpers and skids that took a decent beating. The sliding side windows, power rear glass and fold down tail gate were sweet, Was nice to start it up in the morning and have tunes from the rear speakers, a dome light and warm air coming from the rear vents with coffee brewing on the tail gate.

That's why I chose the Rightline. No need to unload gear, it doesn't have a "tub" and just deploys over the bed. My folded up tonneau acts as a shelf for stuff too.

When I camp I really don't have much gear though. Habits from backpacking I guess, where you have a big incentive not to carry a bunch of useless crap. Most anything that is carried in the bed is coming out to be used in camp anyway.

I'm unsure why you'd think setup time would be any more than for a ground tent. I suppose it might seem complicated if you've not set one of these up and just looked at online pictures.

I'm selling the orange tent. If you have a shell or a softopper (what I have) It works great!

I was considering the bed/cap tent extension thingy, but this looks like an even more versatile and larger solution. Do you have more photos? I may be interested.

I don't have one, but could be interested in one.....

    Comfort
    Fast Setup/stowaway
    No loading/unloading on trip
Sleeping gear is already inside ready to go
    Doubles as an awning

Tents are cheaper (even a really good one) and you can use a cot, so I'll likely just keep tent camping.

I'll see what I can dig up. I haven't used it in over a year since we got a RTT. Here's a link online for what they are:

We used a TruckBedz air mattress and let the dog/friends sleep on the floor. Obviously we would put the tailgate down to stretch out in my 5ft bed

That is pretty awesome. I have a sleeping platform already built in the short bed with a memory foam mattress that I can still use to sleep on, but this would add a nice space for changing clothes, and whatnot.
