I used to flash my lights regularly to signal trucks that it was safe to come into my lane so they could pass slower traffic. Truck drivers used to routinely signal thanks by flashing their lights. On a road trip from MA to Louisville, KY I noticed that fewer and fewer drivers were doing that. On my recent trip to SC, I noticed that almost no truck drivers did it.

Generational, I guess. Lot's of the older drivers are retired and apparently it's not "a thing" among the newer drivers. I'll keep doing it as a courtesy since truck driving is a hard job that is vital to our economy. Maybe of the newer drivers will figure it out.

When I'm looking in my mirror to see if I can merge back over and I get bright lighted I just wanna send a piss bomb out the window.

Last week I helped my brother in law haul a 15 horse trailer back to Seattle from Kentucky. He pointed out the switch labeled interrupt to me.

I did observe some headlight flashing but not consistent. Seems like if you were waiting on that to move back over you might not always get it.

Flashing the parking lights as a thank you seems a bit unnecessary to me. Might have made sense a long time ago on lonely roads?

One thing which stood out to me the most was how much smoother 3 lanes is than 2. Wish we could spend some money on that as a nation.

My wife (~10 yrs younger) kept asking me why I was flashing the other side... explained to her about warning about cops and she said she had never heard about that. Made me feel very sad that this is being lost.

Man, I would love if they went 75... most are governed down and camping the left lane when I drive at ~60-65mph

Yup. One going 65 and the one trying to pass is going 65.1.

I’m not governed tho. It’s balls to the walls all day.

This always drives me nuts. Two guys that are governed the same but loaded different fight for who’s going to lead based on a small hill or something.
