@Dacon nice. Your outer boot fins look similar to mine. Cant tell on your inner boots. Do you know if icon and King turn to lift ratio is the same? I'm getting a slight vibe between 20 mph and 30. I'd I'm accelerating through that range it doesnt really vibe but if I'm coasting through it vibes more.

Not to get side tracked but did you adjust the coilovers while everything was on your truck or did you remove it, compress the spring and adjust it? I'm asking because I have 7 threads showing on each side and my suspension also settled and I think you have the perfect amount of threads showing.

I am not the OP, but I jacked the truck up to get all the weight off the tire and did it with coilover on the truck. Using a 5/16" punch, it was easy peasy.

Thank you. I was just dreading taking the whole thing out and just to make some minor adjustment. I'm going to try your method out.

No problem. I was abbreviating the instructions. If it is not obvious to you that you first loosen the allen bolts on the retainer ring, then do that first. Also, on these trucks, a general rule of thumb is that it is slightly less than a 2:1 ratio of incrased thread showing to lift on the truck. In other words, if you add 1" of thread you will gain slightly less than 2" of height. Also, I am not a fan of counting threads. Before you start, measure from the bottom of the reatiner ring to a fixed object above it to see how much thread length you have gained. That should get you in the ballpark of where you want to be.

Alsdo, if you have reservoirs, you will have to loosen the fitting to the hose in order to turn the nut. To loosen that nut is ok. DO NOT do it so much that all your oil pours out. A few drops is probably ok, but be careful as you do it.

@twitchhero I have done them on the truck as @johntoyota mentioned. Good advice. Dont get me wrong, I love the height I gained with this much threads showing (around 1.25" if you measure the threads) which is close to 3" of lift I believe. I'm actually going to lower them to about 9 on the driver and 7 on the passanger. Right now I have 12 driver and 11 pass. Right now its stiff (which I dont mind for I've had a T100 on garbage shocks lol) but not as much down travel I'd prefer. Going over bumps feel like I'm maxing them out (I dont know, I'm not a mechanic but it feels like they are). After reading more threads on here it seems 6 - 10 threads showing will give you around 2" of lift, where I want to be. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong for I am still fairly new and learning all of this.

@twitchhero also I know you said you have about 7 threads showing, how much lift did that get you?

Dont focus too much on "how much lift you are getting" Just get the suspension dialed in to where you need/want, trucks level and functions perfectly. Each truck is a bit unique so we will be slightly different

@JoeCOVA I'm currently learning that lol. Really, I just want enough to squeeze 255/80/17 in there but not too high where i lose function of the coils.

Agreed, people always asking about how much lift andnot thinking about travel and preload. No benefit to being sky high if you got no droop left to spare. If you got to worry about CV angles you will run into issues down the road

To keep the thread going....2-2.5" lift on 35s

@inesshell true. Nice set up man! Yea, the current set up I have now is a no go (for me). Not enough travel in em now compared to what they were at about 1 - 1.5" lift.

I'm assuming it's the 90 degree fitting, correct me if i'm wrong and once again thank you, good info to know.

I originally set my Kings at 7 threads showing and the truck ran nose high for awhile but as everyone one has mentioned here it seems like the suspension has settled and seems to be riding ass high now but not by much. The suspension feels plush but I think I want my suspension a bit stiffer. I was planning on going to 9 threads on each side. I'll probably do this after the holidays but if you do go back down to a 9 before me can you PM and let me know how it feels and rides?

    Yes, the 90 degree fitting.
I honestly dont even know how much lift I have right now. I just got it level with the rear. Rides great and my tires dont rub. Im happy. I was overly impressed with the dropp that I got out of the JBAs. Probably any good UCA would have given me the same thing but that was the first thing I noticed the first time I took it on a trail.

How’s the ride quality now that you went up 2.5” vs when you had them at 3-4 threads.??
