For sure, although with the prices these things are commanding these days I want decent paint too lol. Makes me glad I'm not in the 1st gen market right now. Mine wasn't cheap in 2016 when I got it, but nowadays it would probably be near double what it went for 5 years ago.

Just bought a 2000 Trd O/R 4x4 with 135k always been in Arizona and New Mexico so no frame issues. I got it for 10k. With the prices right now I think it was a great deal. Inside is mint shape exterior is in great condition as well.

That is a damn near unbelievable deal, even before all this craziness that would've been a steal. Nice find

Interior is mint no tears in seats no stains on carpet and outside is in great condition no dents or anything like that. I already had several offers from random people

Oh man it's green too...best color on the Tacoma imo. Well, it's a toss up between the green and this one which was only on early 1st gens, don't see it much anymore

I think you might be better off price wise looking in the deep south. Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina. Fly into Atlanta and rent a car maybe. If the truck has lived in those states for its whole life it should be relatively rust free.

I went to check out those 2003 and 2004 Tacos and I could push my finger through the drivers side frame on the 2004 :(

However I had someone reach out to me in the area with a 2002 TRD Xtracab with the frame replaced. Fingers crossed, gonna go check it out tomorrow.

Be sure to check it out well. The replacement frames rot just as fast and easily as the original ones did, if they weren't maintained properly.

"Unliked" ... strictly out of jealousy! Man, that thing looks like new. Congratulations. :hattip:

With decent maintenance, that should easily last another 200,000mi/20 years in your part of the country.
