I know some guys that claim their AP packs are flat after a few years. I also know some other guys that rather like their AP packs.

Alcan/Deaver are generally more expensive, but would perform fine.

choices choices. I dont want to skimp money and regret it down the line. Especially as early as 2 years or down the line.

Deavers will flatten out after a bit too! I think that's just the way it is with softer springs!

I jsut installed my Fox 2.5 Rem res Coil overs, TC UCA, Fox 2.0 rem res rear shocks, allpro expedition leafs, extended brake lines, and timbren bump stops and the truck rides AWESOME. I love my new set up. I didnt crank up the front YET as I gave it a couple weeks to settle and what not but next weekend I will crank the front up about 2 more inches. Right now I am riding tail high.. Really high.

All the shops I have talked to (Excluding Allpro) say that if your going to be carrying weight in back i.e. bumper/canopy/trail gear or tow regularly that the all pro expedition leafs are the way to go. They lift about 4" but will settle a little bit after time and some weight. So far I am super happy with mine. I take speed bumps at speed and there is no jumping or jerkiness. The truck just kind of sails over them. I have yet to get them offroad though...

sorry just got caught up...I'm deployed as well :spy:

looks like everyone is pointing you in the right direction short of going SUA. I rocked mid travel with the resis and AAL in the rear for like 8 months and wanted to go faster out in the dez and now the truck is damn near where I want it. It's a world of difference out there in the whoops.

Since you've laid out that you want to go fast maybe saving up a bit longer and increasing your budget to go SUA may be your thing?

I am pretty curious at which direction i am going to go in at this point haha. Its definitely good to have time to decide. Not so sure about the all pro springs. I dont want to be so tail high. the alcan and deaver springs look nice, but they are half way to the SUA

Guess it depends long term where you want to be. It's funny how a lot of us run through the same route, budget lift for looks......mid travel for better performance.....just to end up wanting (going) LT! I really like the defined SUA Special K's running! It can be done in stages keeping the stock shock location until you're ready to cage the bed for longer shocks!

    That's a sick truck Special K!

Thanks Mike! You pretty much hit the nail on the head...that would definitely be a good starting point and do it in stages. Having had both a mid travel suspension and now LT, I thoroughly enjoy the LT and IMO am getting my money's worth.

or you can just be a total bad ass and link it

haha ya. i think for me, the best option is still going to be mid travel. I am not sure if i want all the lift that all pro leafs give. Right now, i am looking for the best option between dakar, deaver, alcan, and all pro. and i still dont know if i want fox or icon. i think they are both going to be great choices though. i am mostly concerned about the springs.

and when i finish with this build, i am sure i will desire LT in my life haha:D

i know you mentioned you like the dunes, and pismo has quite a few run of washboards, im not sure what kinda of valving fox has but i know icon is digressive which is more valving towards speed while king is progressives (slower speeds). again, im not sure what fox is more valved towards. im suggesting icon up front if you decide between fox or icons. i bias because i have never ridden in a mad travel truck with foxs

what would be my options for trying to get a level look with the allpro leafs and icon COs? anyone? I dont really care for the tail high look
