I have a 2011 babied, baby taco, it has 8,500 mi., gets reg. service, & warranty is until 2016. It doesn't leave paved roads. However, I did turn off the LSD a few weeks ago to do a J-turn burn out in the rain. Not very impressive, the LSD stays on... My mods are bigger than stock tires, fog light kit, and a K&N air filter.

My first brand new baby. Off the lot with 11 miles on it. I will baby it through the break in period, and then break it in on the trails. I did however, black-out the badges.

Had my truck for 5 months put 6000+ miles on it. I for sure dont try to beat it up, but I also dont baby it. I do what I need to do, if it gets scratched its ok. In my mind its my truck, I will take ALWAYS care of it but never baby it.

Lol problem is it did so well I haven't upgraded anything yet. Now I'm planning though since the ARB bumpers are out for the 2012s. Gotta have working airbags. I have little kids.

Id beat the ever living shit out of it, if it breaks that's what a warranty is for. My buddy had his brand new Power Wagon on the trails with 130 miles on the clock. Trucks are meant to be used, if you want to baby something but a car.

The absolute first thing I did was take it offroad. I walked into the dealer knowing I was leaving with a tacoma, but I didn't let them know that.

I wanted to test drive the offroad first, as I never had been in one, only sports.
So i hopped on the freeway (in the rain) then got off on a dirtroad, and took it mudding, testing locker etc.

Rolled back to the dealer (truck covered in mud) they where all pissy, but I told him, its sold. :D

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
Not a Tacoma, but in 05 I bought a new Ranger Edge. I had it in a full opposite lock drift on the test drive, the salesman was a little nervous to say the least!

I bought my truck new (my first new vehicle) and I used to baby it, I remember being upset when my bed got scratched from use lol and now I go offroading all the time and have quite a bit of body damage (not all from offroading). It's not that I don't care it's just that I've realized that I enjoy offroading much more than I would enjoy a street queen. :D

Toyota states that all Tacomas are off-road tested and worthy. Looking at everybody's truck here compared to mine, is not encouraging me to change my thinking. Buying your first new truck bad choices, buying the base model... My truck is cool and all, but it's more like a Subaru Brat, minus the outdoor seating.

Baby it as much as I can but not afraid to use it either. Hate to spend $30k + on a new truck and beat the shit out of it. I do have 125k warranty so that eases my mind a little. I drive a lot and I drive fast but don't offroad at all really. I'd like to just not many places around. Looking forward to getting a lift and tires and testing it all out on some trails!

I beat the shit out of mine. It may be an '05 but it only had 11,800 miles on it when I bought it 18 months ago, so it might as well have been brand new. Has about 22,000 miles on it right now.
