Exactly! It's a truck, why have a 30,000 dollar toy you can't play with? That is like buying a Lambo and never taking it out of the garage...or if you were to buy a gun and never shoot it....it just doesn't make sense!!

I take 'em to Baja as soon as possible... My '05 went to Baja the day I got it! My '10 in 3 weeks after, my '01 after about 2 months I think...

The break-in instructions only mention limiting high speed, from what I recall... nothing wrong with off roading/ 4WDing them brand new!

I think it depends on what stage you're at in your life.
When I lived with my parents and by myself I washed it and took care of it 24/7. Now that I own a house, have a wife and dogs and work 50+ hours a week my focuses have shifted. Recently I have put my focus back on to the truck in a cleaning aspect. I've always made sure it was properly serviced, just not always clean (which goes against my username!)

WTF buy a truck for if you're just gonna treat it like precious snowflake?

Put it in revenue generating service as soon as it rolls off the lot.

^I bought mine brand new in February of this year... Have already wheeled it hard enough to know that I need to beef it up- which is why I just order a front and rear high-clearence from Brute Force Fab, a winch and a set of Icon C/Os...

My auto shop teacher from high school runs a race team that runs the American Le Mans series, and he wants to do Baha again, so I think Im going to run the Baha trail/path in a few months with my old teacher, then (possibly) enter it next year. Not gunna try to be competitive or anything, just want to run it and finish- if a (mostly) stock H3 can do it, my Taco can do it!!!

Couldn't resist that over grown dirt road 48 hrs after I drove off the lot. Got nice pin stripes down the side from some bushes. It hurt, but it's a truck. Plus, it's on the passenger side so I never see it. Can't wait for that next road less traveled. Bring it. But if someone touches my truck I'll hunt them down.

Effectively, no. If you mod it enough; suspension, wheels & tires, sliders welded on the frame, cab mounts cut, etc. If you have a problem and take it to the dealer you're just going to war with them, not getting immediate service.

Bought mine on a Friday & was towing a boat to the lake on Saturday. I took it easy the first 5,000 miles. 9,500 miles on it now & driving it like I did my 05 Tacoma.

Gosh, I just don't have the balls to do that just yet. It'll happen eventually for sure, just cost too damn much for me to justify it this early on. I beat my '07 to death pretty quick, so I'm trying to avoid that for a stint...enjoy the stock cleansiness for a time. I admire you guys who hit it right off the bat though.

    Yeah, me too. Well, mostly...

Have a few "custom" body mods...:D

My rule (well, actually, my WIFE'S rule) was no "major" mods until it's paid for. It's getting paid of this month...

I'd already be planning a bunch of stuff, but we're expecting our second kid in Oct, so that's out.(for now)
