Similar pain in the ass is bird shit which if left on for a long period of time will etch your paint. I bought this stuff and works good. Might work for bugs too.

So far for me they are just getting stuck in that ugly ass fake chrome grille I plan to replace anyway...I am hoping they will make it look so bad I will just give up and spend the money for a better looking one. :itllbuffout:

Do you need to know, or care?
I was in Florida once on vacation this time of year and drove Orlando to West Palm Beach, Those things are nasty! So nasty, there were pull outs on the interstate with windshield washing stations.

Any of those bug cleaners will help OP.

The real problem is that their bodies are full of a nasty gooey acid. When they splatter on your paint, you have about 48 hours to get them clean, or the acid will start eating through your clear coat and eventually your paint. I've seen cars with love bugs "scars" and that's not a pretty sight.
Yes, they have high pressure washers in most FL rest stops to help you clean your windshield so you can see out. Forget using your wipers with cleaner, you will just spread it all over making it worse.
They are worse from about 10am to 5 pm during September and May.

Put this on your truck and they will just wash right off. Do the glass also. images.jpg

Not sure if it'll work on "love bugs", but I use this stuff to spot clean bugs off:
