How do yall get your dogs to get in? I have a large 100 pound shepherd mix. Not fat in anyway, but he struggles to get in. Like he can jump high af but when he tries to get in i normally have to help his dumb ass

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Always in the back, seats folded down. I got a rubber mat cut to size to go on top so he doesn’t slide around on the plastic.

Best would be to have a divider so he wouldn’t step on the other smaller dogs. Or adding a barrier to the front so if I hit the brakes hard he would stay back there.
    I got some ideas :)

Mine is a 90 pound great pry, only 10 months old, he climbs in but they also make ramps. With the seat out, its about 5 inches lower for him.

I tell him to sit and then just a hand motion and he usually jumps in. He has miscalculated a few times but usually recovers quickly. He’s afraid of getting left so when I walk near the truck he normally goes to the rear drivers side door and waits. He loves the ride!

Am I the only one that puts them in the bed with the camper shell? Lol.

love my buds, but Jesus they like to get drity. Plus with the wife in the back seat with the baby, not a lot of room.

when it’s hot, I will put them inside. Sometime I take out the front passenger seat to make room for them there.

they love the camper shell. The border collie/husky loves to bite/bark at semi trailers as they drive by.

I just drape a sheet over the back of the rear seats and tuck it behind the seat back, tuck it in the crease between the seat back and the seat bottom. I shake it out when needed and start over. I also have a console cover as my dog likes to ride between me and the wife and look out of the windshield.

Dog is family. Family ride in the cab.

Hammock style between the seats has worked best for us and my dog is upset any time the front of the hammock isn’t connected (because we’ve had a guest or something) so I assume she’s a fan too.

Thank you for the ideas, the bridge car backseat extender is probably my next move since I already have the hammock style in the backseat. The extender is great for that extra support. Didnt know I could just do a backseat delete but I do occasionally have passengers, unfortunately. My dog loves sitting in the backseat and is mostly just chills in the car if we do errands.

It takes 10-15 min to remove or put the seats back in. If you have a big dog, the time is well worth it.

My dogs definitely prefer being in the back. If they're in the cab with me it's too crowded and they're fighting about who is at which window or some other bullshit

I'm a Millionaire! One Million Posts!!
Open the driver side rear door and say Crate! Crate!
He jumps in. 69lb Weimaraner. The crate is smaller than his nite-nite crate, but big enough that he can sleep during long rides. It's the largest crate that I could fit through the door...

My two dogs around 55 lbs. and I tell them to get in and they jump in. I pick them up to get them out, because I don't want them to injure their front shoulders.

When I had a softopper that is how my dog was transported. Sold softopper so now he rides in the back seat of the Lexus.
