I like this idea...just need to find a space inside the cab to really hide it.

    1. use this or
    2. take battery out of remote

hide inside truck and use metal key to lock door or lock truck from the toyota app so alarm will set

While fishing i carry spare truck and boat keys in 2 zip lock bags with a chunk of styrofoam for flotation. Both bags have some air just in case.

Get a generic H key cut to open the truck and use a hide a key. Put the spare in a faraday back somewhere inside.

if someone breaks into your truck and lucks out and finds the key..well that would be just really really bad luck .

I take my fob/key and seal it up in a vacuum sealed/food container bag. I then seal this bag inside another one. Then take the bag and secure it in the area of the receiver hitch. It is waterproof and sealed up from the elements and is there if I need it. I also keep a spare fob battery in the glove box. I have used this setup with other vehicles and it has always worked when I needed it.

Took my valet key and put it in a magnetic key holder and stuck it by the back wheel well on a metal part of course, but a week or two later when I looked it was gone.
