How do you clear a trac off and check engine light after installing a new camshaft sensor?

    The dealership gave me the wrong sensor to start with. The motor wouldn't even fire

    Your code is for a cam sensor...
    Did you replace the crank sensor?
    CPS is cam sensor.
    CKP is crank sensor.
    Everyone uses CPS to describe the crank sensor...

    Toyota calls camshaft position sensor and crank position sensor the Sam thing

    where is the other camshaft sensor located??? i found the passenger side one.

    The V6 has an intake and exhaust camshaft position sensor. However, the 0348 code is for the #2 bank VVT sensor. The only way that code would display in relation to the camshaft position sensor is if the Camshaft Position Sensor "A" was shorted on the battery side or left open. I.E. It sounds like either you have a bad sensor or a break in wiring.

    Here are the Camshaft Position Sensors:

    Two totally different initialisms for two totally different sensors: Camshaft Position Sensor (CPS) and Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP)

    Yep so when I told the dealership I need a camshaft position sensor the idiots sold me a crankshaft sensor smh I think that is the problem

    That's the correct part number for his application. These magnetic sensors are common equipment and in this case the same part number is also used as a crankshaft position sensor on some Camrys and Highlanders. I'd need the exact date of manufacture and engine code to tell you for sure.

    Look into part number 90919-T5005. I think that was the original part number for your application. If not that, then look at 90919-05061.

    I'd be looking for a break in the wire. I doubt a cam sensor is bad already, but maybe. Can u ohm out a hall effect sensor?

    I put my old sensor back in. Whick cam sensor is bank 2.
