real and good quality microfiber wont shed any lint, and is the easiest on the paint while absorbing the dirty water and stuff. I dont like absorbers because i find they like to absorb water but dont take the dirt and grime away with them. Microfiber is the best drying material imo, as long as you keep them clean.

I wash my micro fibers after every use. Indigo ink show scratches really bad.

i use the "two bucket wash",soap foam gun, sheeting rinse, and metro blaster air blaster...the electric leaf blower didn't get all the water off..the 8 hp blaster kicks butt,i'll use any good car wash soap, with carnuba that i can get from "wally-world".not such a big deal on my "super white",but my wife's black maxima gets scratched if you even look at it the wrong way.i also use "surf city" products and clay when needed...got all my info from watching the "junkman" on youtube.

got it from autogeek...kinda expensive...it has 2 toggle switches(4 hp ea.)since it's warm filtered air(60 degrees beyond ambient) i can also use it to dry my german shepherds on the 4 hp setting...both switches on to dry the car or truck.

I've been using my gas leaf blower. It does a nice job, but filtered warm air has got to be safer.

phil5393...it's the "metro master blaster,8 hp...be sure to get a 12 ga. cord..this bugger will trip curcuits..no problem with the bigger ext cord.it's only loud when you go after wheels and tight crevices..makes a hellava whistleing sound...i think the gas blowers will leave exhaust film on your car, since i don't have a garage,i'll use the "masterblaster" to blow down my wash area first, then i saturate that area with water to keep the dust down, move the car in and rinse the dry car first, then completely soap down with the foam gun, rinse and then "spot foam"top/hood/trunk,ect.i use three different colored micro fibre wash mitts(top, sides, bottom) and i always use the "two-bucket system"to be sure i'm not adding grit(grit guards) to the finish...blow it down, top to bottom, then i use "surf city" products(wally world) to finish...but check out the"junkman" on youtube...he's the man!!!

I'll check out Junkman. I've been really into Mike Phillips techniques lately. I use the same wash method as you Road Dawg. I haven't noticed any exhaust film from the blower but I am nervous using it. I tell people I have a show truck that I'm forced to drive. lol. I've never used Surf City I usually use Meguires but am open to whatever works. There arent very many people on TW really into detailing it seems.

I hand wash the truck once a month (or more if she needs a bath) and take her for a spin up I95 for a couple miles to dry her off.

no big deal about useing leaf blowers, either gas or electric, something beats the hell outa nothing,it's just that i'm not having to weild around a machine with a long nozzle attached.the hose and nozzle that comes with the master blaster is very handy to use,the nozzle fits comfortably in your hand...i like the "mike phillips" videos also.i agree that there isn't much discussion in this forum on detailing, but eventually the "beast" will have to be cleaned up and considering the price of a tacoma either new or used,i think a well maintained truck will hold a higher value as opposed to a nice truck that been neglected.i like to take care of my "stuff"!

Yep, the leaf blower works very well. I use it to blow off all the excess water and then I use an absorber to finish her off.
